The ``Hope For Firefighters`` Event

Benefitting the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief¬†Association’s Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen’s Fund. The Largest Firefighter event of its kind in the Nation, held the 1st Thursday in June each year.

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), Corporate Sponsors and Teams, and thousands of Angelenos will gather for this event, the purpose of which is to honor the firefighters who risk their lives to serve and protect us, and to raise funds for the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association’s Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firemen’s Fund, a valuable 501(c)(3) organization.

The event gives the community a chance to meet its brave firefighters face to face, enjoy a taste of their world famous cooking and participate in bucket brigade, hose cart pull, timed suit up and life net competitions.

Hope for Firefighters features live music, delicious meals prepared by over 25 different fire stations throughout the City, fire apparatus and demonstrations, LAFD gift merchandise booths, raffle drawings, prizes, trophies and exciting Firefighter – Muster games where more than twenty sponsored teams will compete for trophies & prizes in everything from bucket brigade, firefighter suit-up to an old fashioned hose pull contest. Funds are raised through sponsorship, meal ticket sales, raffle items and the sale of LAFD merchandise through the Dalmatians Store.

Food and beverage (fire bucks) pricing is as follows:
Meal = $9.00
Soda and Water = $2.00
Desserts and Blended Drinks = $3.00

Hope For Firefighters started in 1998 after three L.A. City Firefighters died in a tragic helicopter crash. Touched by this incident and by the daily heroism of all of our brave firefighters, several downtown business men and women created the event as a tribute to the LAFD.

Event Location

Hope Street between 3rd and Hope Place will be closed to make way for the thousands of people who will be attending. Bring your hats and sunscreen (especially for the little ones).
